2011-2012 Safer Schools Report Card
For the last three years, Outright Vermont has conducted a Safer Schools Report Card on the climate of our state’s schools. In the 2011-2012 school year, we expanded our survey to the students directly, asking them to assess the safety, climate, and response to harassment and bullying from their own experiences.
We were excited to receive a huge number of responses, from schools all over the state from the spring of 2012. Due to the extensiveness of this years survey, the data is taking a little longer to synthesize. Our apologies for the delay in releasing the results of the 2011-2012 Safer Schools Report Card — we expect to release our findings in December 2012.
Outright Vermont began the Safer Schools Report Card in 2009, surveying administrators in all public high schools in Vermont to highlight efforts being made to improve school climate for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, and questioning (LGBTQQ or queer) youth.
